Today is the first official day in existence for WeDesignChange.org .  WDC is a new site about channeling the power of the design and art community to make big waves in different social causes around the world.

Right now, we’re in the “community building” phase.  We just want to get our member list built up as much as possible!  Want to help?  Share this site with some friends!  Twitter it, E-mail it, Digg it, Stumble it, Float it — whatever it takes to get the word out.  This is a community run site made especially for the community, so we depend on each other to keep things soaring.

Also, feel free to grab our banners from the Community members page (or below) to display proudly on your own site (and don’t forget to link back to us).

I don’t want to waste your time repeating what is said elsewhere on this site, so here are a few links on the site worth checking out:

  • About WDC - This is where you’ll find the WDC mission and specifics.

  • The Blog - That’s HERE!  Stay up to date on the latest happenings.

  • Community Links - All the latest inspiring work from around the community.  Don’t forget to subscribe to the Community Links RSS feed.  There is also a list of the “latest” in the footer in case you’re in too much of a rush to click :)

  • Members - Check out all the designers who have pledged their support for changing the world!  Add them to your networks - they are some cool people :)  There’s also a list of the latest signups in the sidebar.

Thanks for coming!  Don’t forget to spread the word - we need YOU to make WDC a success.

Spread the word — it’s the first annual ONE DAY FOR HUMAN RIGHTS Day!

To all those that have supported our first partner, One Day for Human Rights — Thanks a ton.  Anca is doing an amazing job rallying troops over at ONFHR, and getting a TON of signatures in support of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights printing on our passports.

Have you signed up yet?  If not, do it now!

The dream of having a global Universal Declaration of Human Rights is extremely important.  Human rights violations are rampant in many areas of the globe (heck, even in parts of the U.S., Canada, Australia, and many European countries).  Part of realizing this global reality is creating a global awareness of the UDHR.  What better way than getting it put in our passports?

Today is the 60th anniversay of the UDHR, and still barely any average joe citizen will be able to tell you what those letters stand for.  Together, we can change that by signing the petition and promoting One Day for Human Rights wherever we go.  Tweet it, blog it, e-mail it, create art around it — ANYTHING to get the word out!  I know there are tons of you subscribed to the newsletter and RSS feed.  Here’s the news you’ve been waiting for - Take ACTION!

Thanks again to Anca and her awesome efforts.  IF you’re on twitter be sure to follow Anca and One Day for Human Rights for future developments.
